When I read a press release with the sentence “this is not another pop-up”, I’m intrigued. Especially when it also talks about a new generation of pop-up concepts and that the likes of Baroness O. (online store/creative studio) and Sofie Claes (fashion designer) are involved.
Let me introduce you to The Plantshop. Based in Antwerp, from November 21st until December 28th, The Plantshop promises to spoil us with coffee, design, magazines and plants. But there’s more: the temporary restaurant will stuff your stomach every Thursday night (reservation required).
These creative gals also worked together on a special project. Top-secret as for now, the only thing we know for now is that it is a cross-over of sorts between fashion and design.
Furthermore, Baroness O. will present her capsule collection Jacky by Baroness O. together with other items from the webshop.
Designer Sofie Claes will present her AW13 capsule collection which she will complement with a line of silver leather garments.
Opening hours – Thursday through Sunday – 11am-7pm
Also open on December 23 & 24, 27 & 28.
For dinner reservations, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
Earlier this summer we visited the show-up shop in Ghent hosted by none other than siblings Anne and Line of Baroness O. who did a collab with the talented Dagmara of Bureau Jacky.
Anne and Line are the brains behind Baroness O., both a blog and pop-up webshop. Pop-up as in the fact that they only offer twenty selected items. They carry these items in limited quantities, so when a product is sold-out it is simply replaced by a new product. Their webshop features the most beautiful design objects and you’ll surely agree with me that every visit is very tempting.
Dagmara of Bureau Jacky is a very talented lady whose work and approach I truly admire. She has the most rad concepts when it comes to promoting her services. It’s just one of the many reasons I’d hire her.
The idea behind the show-up shop was to let people see & touch the items the ladies of Baroness O. are selling in their webshop. After all, Belgian customers aren’t exactly the most fervent online shoppers.
For the people who were looking for a new logo or site design, it was the perfect opportunity to sit down and have a chat with Dagmara and exchange ideas. I think the threshold is rather low in this case.
From what I’ve heard Baroness O. is planning more of these events. I’ll be sure to post any news on the Coineanach Facebook page as it comes available.
(oh, and kudos to the ladies of Baroness O. for creating the best goodie bag ever (office supplies addict typing here)).
